The incident occurred in Albany around 10:30 a.m. on South Pearl Street on Wednesday, Sept. 25.
According to Albany Police, an investigation into the incident found that Teshawn Conley of Albany had been involved in a physical altercation with a woman, during which he threatened her with a handgun while a child was present.
The victim was injured during the incident, police said.
Conley was still on the scene and was taken into custody.
In addition, detectives from the Albany Police Department’s Children and Family Service Unit executed a search warrant at the residence and recovered two illegal handguns.
Conley was charged with:
- Assault
- Endangering the welfare of a child
- Menacing
- Criminal possession of a weapon
- Criminal possession of a firearm.
He was also charged with assault from a separate incident, police said.
Conley was remanded to the Albany County Jail with bail set at $40,000.
